(Cheviot, OH) The Drama Workshop is proud to offer its Summer Theatre Arts Camp to interested children from ages 5 – 14. The program will be held July 7 – 11, 2014, at The Glenmore Playhouse in Cheviot.
The camp features two instructors with over 50 years of theatrical experience combined. Karen Vanover will instruct Session 1 for ages 5 to 8, and James Burton will instruct Session 2, for ages 9 to 14. Karen has more 20 years of teaching experience, and is an award-winning director, actor, and costumer. Jim is the founding director for the Children’s Performing Arts of Miamisburg, as well as a founder and instructor for The Children’s Performing Arts of Lakota. Karen and Jim both currently instruct for the City of Montgomery Young Actors’ Theater Camp.
Session 1 will be held in the morning from 9 am until 12 pm, and Session 2 will be held from 1 pm until 4 pm. Each instructor will lead the children through this week-long camp with individualized instruction and a curriculum that is adapted to the age and abilities of the children. The program will take place at The Glenmore Playhouse at 3716 Glenmore Ave Cheviot, Ohio 45211. Snack and water or drink is included.
At the end of the week, the campers will make a 30-minute presentation. Session I presentation begins at 11:30 a.m. and Session II presentation begins at 3:30 p.m. A small reception follows each presentation. The presentation and reception is free to family and friends.

THE DRAMA WORKSHOP was founded in 1954. TDW is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to advancing education and promotion of the theatrical arts. The Drama Workshop is widely recognized as one of greater Cincinnati’s most accomplished community theater organizations, garnering dozens of awards annually from the Cincinnati Association of Community Theatres. TDW productions have been regularly selected to represent the Southwest Ohio region at the Ohio Community Theatre Association annual conference, and TDW was also honored to represent the state of Ohio at the American Association of Community Theatre regional conference in 2013. The Drama Workshop recently was recognized by the Cincinnati Preservation Association for their efforts to rehabilitate the former Glenmore Bowl into The Glenmore Playhouse.
