Auditions Announced for BECKY’S NEW CAR and HOME BREW THEATRE 7 at The Drama Workshop (Completed)

The Drama Workshop is pleased to announce joint auditions for BECKY’S NEW CAR and HOME BREW THEATRE 7 will be held on Sunday, October 8th and Tuesday, October 10th, 2023. Callbacks for BECKY’S NEW CAR, if needed, will be on Wednesday October 11th.

Actors are invited to audition for either or both productions. The production and rehearsal schedules would allow actors to be cast in both productions.

BECKY’S NEW CAR

Synopsis: Becky Foster is caught in middle age, middle management and in a middling marriage—with no prospects for change on the horizon. Then one night a socially inept and grief-stricken millionaire stumbles into the car dealership where Becky works. Becky is offered nothing short of a new life…and the audience is offered a chance to ride shotgun in a way that most plays wouldn’t dare. BECKY’S NEW CAR is a thoroughly original comedy with serious overtones, a devious and delightful romp down the road not taken.

The play is directed by Tom Peters and produced by Amy and Chris Eyers. There are 10 performances running weekends from March 1 – 17, 2024, including one Thursday performance on March 14, 2024

Auditions will be the evenings of Sunday 10/8 and Tuesday 10/10, with callbacks if needed on Wednesday 10/11. Please use the signup genius link below.

Rehearsals will begin in mid-late January.

HOME BREW THEATRE 7

HOME BREW THEATRE is The Drama Workshop’s showcase of short plays by local authors. Performance dates are one weekend January 19-21, 2024. Each short play will have its own director. Home Brew Theatre will again be produced by Clint Bramkamp and Eric Thomas.

There will be 9 or 10 plays as part of the weekend. Because the selection process is still ongoing, the details of the roles available are not known yet. But it’s likely there will be roles for all ages and types. Scripts will be available to actors prior to auditions.

Auditions will be in front of a panel of directors, and will be recorded on video for any director unable to make it.

Rehearsals likely begin in November. The schedule for which will be worked out depending on each play’s director and actor availabilities.
